Why invest in SBV?

Right Place

Bangsamoro is at the cusp of an economic boom that can be truly inclusive. Our starting point is the city of Isabela, a city in Basilan with a history of religious and ethnic coexistence and tolerance. Peace and good governance in Isabela have brought a historic reduction of poverty among families from 42% to 10% in the last 5 years. As a greenfield opportunity for investors, it is difficult to find a more compelling proposition. Instead of endlessly probing for worthy investment ideas, one is immersed in them and you can allocate your precious time and resources towards capturing opportunities rather than uncovering them.

Right Time

A stable peace has led to progress, making Bangsamoro the 2nd fastest growing region in the Philippines. History has shown that transitions of this nature have been followed by strong economic growth driven by global trade and consumer demand for basic convenience. Investment spending has a significant multiplier effect on trade, consumption, and income. Bangsamoro’s transition will be particularly vigorous and highly predictable.

Bangsamoro has a young, literate, working age population - most of whom are women.

There is also an unparalleled opportunity for Bangsamoro businesses to supply Halal products throughout the BIMP-EAGA region.

Right Opportunities

SBV is a pioneering investment vehicle that channels Shariah-compliant impact investment into early-stage and growth-stage companies, focusing on industries that align with the region's long-term development goals such as:

  • Renewable Energy

  • Satellite Broadband Speed Internet

  • Processing of high value ingredients

  • Microfinance and supply chain management to microentrepreneurs

Right Team

Our combined experience and deep relationships have enabled us to develop fundamental, structurally predicated competitive advantages to maximize the benefit from the emergence of the Bangsamoro region. Our small size and detailed evidence-based approach affords us tremendous ability and adaptability.

Right Thing to Do

SBV intends to create a tangible, measurable impact in alignment with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly:

  • SDG 1: No Poverty

  • SDG 5: Gender Equality

  • SDG 13: Climate Action

  • SDG 16: Peace and Security

About Bangsamoro

Excluded as less than human for centuries by the Spanish, systematically disenfranchised and concurrently ransacked for its resources by colonizers and the national government alike - armed violence divided communities and devastated the local economy of the Bangsamoro region for decades. However, with the restoration of peace and good governance, the Bangsamoro story has reached a chapter of hope and progress. “Bangsamoro” refers to the nation (Bangsa) of predominantly Muslim Filipinos that include 13 ethnolinguistic indigenous groups.

Bangsamoro is at the cusp of an economic boom that can be truly inclusive. Investing for impact in the region will not only unlock the value of multiple undervalued assets such as rubber, coconut, seaweed, and the creativity of its people; it will also end intergenerational poverty and ensure a lasting peace.
